Hey Las Vegas! While we don't provide service for mosquitos, we thought we could give you some tips. If you’re getting eaten alive lately, it's not just you! The Aedes aegypti (yellow fever mosquito) has exploded across the valley. These aggressive biters love our backyards, patios, and any tiny bit of standing water.
The #1 thing we can all do right now:
Dump the water! Mosquitoes only need a bottle cap of stagnant water to breed. Walk your yard and check:
Plant saucers & pots
Buckets, toys, tarps & pool covers
Pet bowls & birdbaths
Garbage cans & recycling bins
Leaky faucets, clogged gutters, or damp spots under drip irrigation
Empty, cover, or toss anything that holds water — even once a week makes a huge difference.
Extra tips for staying bite-free:
Use EPA-approved repellent when you’re outside, especially dawn/dusk and anytime.
Wear long sleeves/pants when possible during peak times.
Keep doors/windows screened and use fans outdoors — mosquitoes are terrible fliers.
Fix or treat green pools ASAP.
Small actions = fewer mosquitoes for everyone. Who else is tired of these ankle-biters ruining evenings? Drop your best tips below! Let’s keep the desert livable.
